Mac`s in Clemson

By far the best diner in the area! The burgers and fries are great and the staff is always so friendly. There are tons of great pictures on the walls and the atmosphere is always awesome! Cash or check only!!!

Not impressed. Lunch visit. Ordered a hotdog and a fish sandwich. We sat in the parking lot for 30 minutes! FOR A HOT DOG AND A FISH SANDWICH! Obviously Call In gets faster service. POOR Communications! They need to inform guests ofapproximate times for the order. We didn't think the staff is as friendly as previous comments. Owner kind of snubbed us when we came in and paid better attention to his regulars. I get it, no worries. Will only come back if visitors want to go there. Sorry. I'm sure they're good folks.

Very small but good food...

Mac’s Drive In has great food! I always enjoy their burgers and milkshakes. The service is quick and very easy. They only take cash or check, so make sure you have one or the other on you!

Ok. Always polite staff. People talk this place up like the food is really good. It isnt. It's just a regular burger. But they've been there forever and its reliable and comforting. Sometimes you don't want a super fancy life changing burger. Sometimes you just want a burger that tastes like your dad made it out back. Homestyle food isn't haute cuisine down south. Its cheap, filling and dependable. So is mac's. 3 star food, 5 star legacy.

Amazing burgers and conversation! Today was our 2nd time visiting and it was better than the last. We permanently moved here today and had to visit. We forgot it was cash only and offered to leave my wife there while I go get cash (lol) and to my amazement, Pat told me to just pay the next time we come in! THAT’S one of the reasons we moved here! Old town people with old town values. Honesty, integrity, and they treat you like family. Thanks Mac’s and Pat for the Southern Hospitality! BTW...the double cheeseburger is the best!

My first time trying today after a long hike on the AT in Georgia!! I was starving and the food was so satisfying and delicious. All good is cooked to order. Their fountain drinks are so refreshing and have the small easy to crunch ice chips!! The service was excellent and prices were very reasonable. I will be back!!

Macs is always great. Atmosphere is the best. Small hole in the wall, local, best hamburgers around.

Delicious chocolate milkshake decent onion rings so so double cheeseburger. This place has been here since the 1950s and was featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. The atmosphere is casual with lots of Clemson memorabilia. I do have two complaints. The food was served on very flimsy paper plates and they don't take credit cards.

Delicious old school burgers. Fresh, delicious tomatoes make the burger. Get a double if you’re hungry - they’re not huge.

Been feasting on double cheeseburger plates here at Mac's for about 50 years. Always a pleasure to come back. Good Clemson folks and cheeseburgers and sweet tea like none other.

Good old fashioned burgers!

Great burgers and more. This place has been going strong for decades and is the go-to place for lunch and dinner if you are fortunate to be in Pendleton/Clemson area.

First, before reading anything else, it's super important to note that THIS IS A CASH OR CHECK *ONLY* RESTAURANT. (Learned from experience and thankfully the management allowed me to drive to an ATM.) That being said, I love this cute little dive. The cheeseburgers were classic and delicious, fries were hot and fresh, and the chocolate milkshakes were handspun and so authentic. 🍔 🍟 The staff was really friendly and easygoing too! It's obviously a family-run business so it's super informal, which I liked. The parking lot is just loose gravel with no lines, so keep that in mind. There's not any music playing or anything, and the actual eating space is a bit small and cramped, but the easygoing atmosphere and amazing American comfort food made up for that.

Charming trip back in time. Everything was just perfect. Juicy tasty hamburger. Side options included ‘all fries, salad and fries or slaw and fries’. Coke over fine crushed. Yum!

This is a must stop for all Clemson Tiger fans. Great nostalgia and drive-in food! The grilled cheese burger is always a great goto. (Although that is what I was having at Mac's when Flutie threw his Hail Mary against the Canes, so I may be a little biased 😉.)

Mac's Drive In is an institution. A great place to grab a good burger right off the grill and not break the bank.

It is ok but what is up with feeding the vultures. There where 43 vultures hanging out there last time I was there

Been going there for many years. Really good comfort food! Excellent vanilla milk shake!! Worth the trip.

Fast and yummy

Portions were a little small (I had a grilled cheese and french fries) but the food tasted great and the milkshakes were awesome!

Great Diner food with very fair prices. I have enjoyed eating here and the food is exactly what you'd expect from a classic American diner. The restaurant is quite small, but has nice decorations and you can tell it's a staple of the community. Remember to bring cash however, as cards were not accepted at the time that I went.

Good place to grab a burger. I’ve had some good and not so great experiences here so it can be a little hit or miss to me. It’s a local favorite so it’s worth everybody stopping in and trying at least once.

If they had better staff would be better. I call and they ask me what I want only for them to say something unintelligible and say call back later when they get caught up after I ask for just 2 hotdogs and a cheese burger

Its 2019. Accept that cards have fees. There are 30 burger places within 10min. Can't speak on their food. Young lady behind counter was very kind, however

They are friendly, quality food, great portions, and price is on point. Was my first time. Will not be my last. My new local burger joint!!!
